Trinity’s Annual Meeting
 Reporting for the year 2020
March 21, 2021 at 11 a.m. via Zoom

Let’s talk Annual Meeting!  Trinity’s Annual Meeting will be held on Sunday, March 21st at 11 a.m. via Zoom.

The last time we were able to meet together as a congregation was our Annual Meeting on Sunday, March 8, 2020  as we welcomed Diocesan Canon Betsy Ivey.  The following weekend we experienced the beginning of the pandemic related ‘shutdown’.  Needless to say, this year’s annual meeting will be a little different.  We (Vestry and Clergy) discussed best ways to conduct and organize this year’s meeting and we are holding it via Zoom.  We encourage you to join in via Zoom (link follows) if for no other reason than to “see” your Trinity siblings and have a chance to chat with those you have not had contact with over the last year!

After short introductory comments and organizational overview, we will vote on our Vestry members and Diocesan/Deanery delegates via texting.

The current slate of nominees for Vestry is Jennifer Grubb, Betty Sullivan, Bill Terry and Michael Thompson.  We have 4 slots open and 4 nominees.  Let us know if there is someone else you would like to nominate for Vestry.

The current slate of nominees for Diocesan/Deanery Deputy is  Pat Kirkner, Betty Sullivan and Bill Terry.  Let us know if you or someone you know would like to represent Trinity at our Diocesan Convention and Deanery events/functions.

After we vote, you will then be automatically transferred into small ‘breakout rooms’ where a member of Vestry will be with you for small group conversation around two questions.  These questions are

What should Trinity look like post-COVID?

  1. What is it about the church that is meaningful to you?
  2. What will physical church attendance look like?
  3. How do you personally feel about coming back to church when vaccines are more prevalent and cases are lower?
  4. Any other thoughts on this topic?

What ministries are more critical at this time than others?

  1. Should we enhance/continue/end our pre-COVID ministries? (some examples of core ministries:  Veterans Brunch, Stone Hall Rentals, Community Garden, Laundry Love, Art on the Walls, Breakfast with Santa)
  2. Are there additional opportunities for ministry beyond our pre-COVID list to support our community?
  3. Should we be sharing guest speakers/information via technology?
  4. Any other thoughts on this topic?

The role of the Vestry member in each breakout room is to facilitate the discussion and to capture the heart of the various conversations; the answers to the larger questions.  We recognize this past year as a great ‘pause’ in life as we knew it and an opportunity to be intentional about the Trinity of the future.  We do hope you will join us and share your hopes and dreams about Trinity’s mission and ministry.

The goal is that the meeting will be ended by 12 Noon and that this will have been a wonderful opportunity for all to see and chat with church family.

It will be good to come together again and perhaps we can begin planning what that might look like?
